Hammer Down was formed in March '06 when some old friends, Anthony Gelona (Orfan Annie) and Phil Michaels (Ragdoll) ran into each other at a club one night. Their conversation soon turned to original music and they made plans to get together.
We had no intention of re-inventing the wheel or becoming the next new thing. We had one goal in mind, "Rock and Roll, Baby". Bluesy and hard rockin' with a touch of the bombast that seems to be missing in most new bands, we set out to play what we wanted to hear, nothing more, nothing less!
With Bill Saltzer (Surrender Dorothy) on bass, Joey Lampassi (Ragdoll) on drums, and Joe DeLuca (Why Me Recording) on piano they are ready, willing and able to blow the roof off a joint near you. If you like it down and dirty, then you don't need a doctor, you need some Hammer Down. C'mon out to the Rock and Roll Medicine Show and get Sick from the Cure!
